Carp fishing lake and river fishing
Fishing for the Fisherman at Frolic Farm includes a two acre Lake stocked with Common and Mirror Carp and a mile of the River Cam, great for large Pike and silver fish.
Fishing the Lake or River is free to guests staying in our Holiday accommodation whether it's one night or several nights. Fishing for Carp during the night is also permitted even though our beds are so comfortable.
The Lake was built in 1996 with three stepped shelves on each side before dropping down 38 feet in the centre with moon shaped ends. A few fish were stocked at this time but in February 2007 the Lake was stocked seriously with Carp weighing from 8- 32lbs. Anglers are welcome to also join a membership syndicate through Waterbeach Angling Club which will give them unlimited fishing on the Lake for Carp with two rods and seasonal fishing on the River Cam. With Waterbeach Angling Clubs Interest in our waters care and experience for the fish comes first.
Waterbeach Angling Club is a renowned fishing club based around Waterbeach village which is only separated from Frolic Farm by the River Cam. The club was established in 1936 by a party of local anglers meeting on the River bank.
