Scenic walks along the river or stroll through historic Cambridge
Whether it's a scenic stroll along the River Cam and around the village of Lode or a hike to the historical city of Cambridge you'll find plenty of open space in which to stretch your legs.
The relatively flat landscape of the Fens and surrounding area offer even the novice walker an ideal opportunity to get out and explore the countryside.
The Quy Fen Walks follow routes in and around the local countryside taking in the villages of Lode, Stow-cum-Quy and Horningsea. This network of walks ranges from 2 to 6 miles and is all well indicated.
For the more adventurous follow the meandering bank of the River Cam northwards into the cathedral City of Ely where the Rivers cam and Ouse meet. Once there you can visit one of the most stunning cathedrals in the country or take a look around the former home of Oliver Cromwell, now the Tourist Information Centre.
Follow the River Cam southwards and it leads you to the historical University City of Cambridge. Take your time to stroll around the City's side streets and take in the magnificent architecture of the Colleges.
Further details of walks in the area, together with maps, can be found in the leaflets provided for you or by clicking here.
